Hi, I'm Annik (Ah-neek). Thanks for visiting my blog about my sewing and quilting adventures. I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota with my husband and our three children (two boys and a girl).
My mom made many of my clothes as a child. She also made dolls and everything else under the sun. She taught me to sew when I was in elementary school. I wore my first major sewing project on the first day of 6th grade - it was a pair of pink drawstring capri pants. I thought they were the bomb and I was totally hooked.
My mom's mom was a master with a needle and thread. She worked in a dress factory at one point in her life and I'm quite sure she could sew absolutely anything perfectly, clothes, quilts, whatever. She would get so excited about buying new "yard goods" as she called them. I'm pretty sure I can blame my obsessive fabric collecting on my grandma, but I'm not complaining.
I enjoy sewing clothes, home dec stuff, accessories, but these days I spend the vast majority of my sewing time working on quilts. I'm a sucker for Japanese fabrics, vintage Scandinavian textiles and graphic prints. My other passions include eating local, community supported agriculture (CSA's), and attachment parenting.
